As a student in the Leading Emerging Futures course at Murdoch University, I've gained valuable insights into innovation, technology, and leadership. Here are the key lessons from the course: Digital Currencies: A Debate on the Future We debated whether digital currencies are good or bad. This helped me understand their potential to change finance and the risks they bring. Exploring Virtual and Augmented Reality We worked with Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) technologies, learning how they can be used in fields like education and healthcare. This showed me how these technologies can transform user experiences. Developing Disruptive Ideas We created concepts for future apps or services to solve problems in new ways. This project encouraged creativity and teamwork, teaching me how to turn ideas into real solutions. BUS 226 Talent Acquisition
In the Talent Acquisition course at Murdoch University, I've learned essential skills for recruiting and hiring. Simulated AI Interviews We practiced interviews with an AI, which improved my interviewing skills and taught me how to evaluate candidates effectively. Identifying Good Candidates I learned how to identify the best candidates for different roles, focusing on key qualities and skills needed for various positions. Human Resource Roles The course covered the roles of HR professionals, including recruitment, training, and employee relations, helping me understand how HR supports a company's success. Practical Applications Overall, the course provided practical skills for managing recruitment and building strong teams, preparing me for a career in HR and business management. In summary, this course has equipped me with valuable insights into hiring and HR roles. I'm excited to apply these skills in my future career.
BUS 363 Scaling Agile Projects
In our first session, we had to introduced ourselves by sharing our names, countries, and favourite activities. This activity helped us remember each other's names and learn about our diverse backgrounds, creating a sense of camaraderie and a supportive class environment. Project Management Approaches We explored the differences between operational and agile project management. Operational management focuses on business continuity and efficiency, while agile management emphasizes adaptability and continuous improvement. Understanding these approaches is essential for applying the right strategy to different project scenarios. Technology, Collaboration, and Resilience We learned about technologies that enhance business scalability and the importance of strategic partnerships. A silent exercise highlighted the value of emotional intelligence in leadership. Despite my knee surgery and recovery challenges, I stayed on track with my studies, learning the importance of resilience and adaptability. This course has equipped me with valuable insights and practical skills for managing agile projects.
